Greetings from Everly Heights,
I’m pleased as punch to finally release our new Everly Heights Tale, based on one of the original “Everly Heights scripts” I wrote from 2021-2024. Think of it as my love letter to “we’ve got a secret” sitcoms like Alf or Bewitched, along with some commentary on the pain secrets can cause. This tale is really funny too, mostly because of the awesome cast, featuring Dan Pavatich as the dark troll wizard Nosloo the Great along with a dozen other awesome actors.
W.E.I.R.D.E. agent Jim Colvin spends his days policing the multiverse, yet he can’t find out what his new wife, Ramona, is hiding. His deepening paranoia finds a reluctant partner in Nosloo the Great, a refugee dark troll wizard from the war-torn Land of Fee-Nee who is desperate to return home and save his kingdom. But when Jim hatches a risky scheme to use the wizard to force a moment of radical honesty, the walls begin to close in—both from the secrets in his marriage and the coworkers determined to uncover exactly what contraband he smuggled home from the office.
In the aftershow, creator Bill Meeks chats with actor Dan Pavatich (voice of “Nosloo the Great”) about the “We’ve Got a Secret” sitcom genre. They discuss their friendship’s improv origins, the influence of ALF and other weird TV shows on the story, and the ethical nightmare of the episode’s Men in Black-inspired ending. Plus, Dan shares details on his own project, The Hustle Gods.

I wrote the first draft of this script back in pandemic times, the first script I wrote after deciding to commit to the Everly Heights concept. After five years living with this story, I can’t tell you how exciting it was to hit publish last night.
You’ll probably recognize Nosloo from Welcome, Freshmen where he first appeared as a random fantasy character popping up in sitcom world. When I decided to do the whole “shared universe” thing back in 2021, the plan was to grab one random character from each script I wrote and make them the star of the next script. I still kinda do that for Everly Heights, but it isn’t a strict rule.
I want to give a big thanks to our second largest cast yet for all the help the gave me putting this together. I also want to apologize for how long it took! This was in the initial batch of EHT scripts I sent out to the cast last summer. It was a pretty complex production challenge for a pretty long episode, so it took a sec. I think the results are stunningly hilarious. I hope you enjoy it too.
