Dogboy Adventures by Bill Meeks

I’m pleased as punch to announce that I’m releasing my book series Dogboy Adventures free forever on the web.

Dogboy Adventures started with a novel called “Den of Thieves”  back in 2013, but Dogboy as an idea… an ideal? Dogboy’s been around since the early 2000s. He’s been a short story, a comic book script, novels, and now a fictional TV show in my Everly Heights universe. Back in 2020, I wrote a post called Dogboy: Origins that gets into the history I have with Bronson Black and his magical Colta City. Bottom line, Dogboy has been a key part of every major chapter of my creative story, so it only makes sense he’s going to live on in my upcoming Fanboy graphic novel I’m making for Everly Heights.

THE DOGBOY ADVENTURES BOOK SERIES

Since it’s been ten years (really?!?!?) since their initial release, and I’d love for people to learn more about Dogboy before Fanboy comes out, I’m releasing the books for free on the web. If you aren’t familiar with Dogboy Adventures, here’s the summary:

Dogboy Adventures follows Bronson Black, alias Dogboy, as he navigates the complexities of life as an orphaned superhero in his new home of Colta City. Beyond battling the Guild of Thieves, his nasty Uncle Randolph, and the school bully, Dogboy uncovers deep-seated corruption, faces personal dilemmas, and explores mysterious locales like the eerie Curleyworld. Each story intertwines Bronson’s naive ideas of justice with personal growth, new friends and enemies, and a mission to uncover his late father’s secrets that challenge his understanding of right and wrong, loyalty, and his own identity.

Enter a world where magic, mystery, and morality intersect. Dogboy Adventures is a tapestry of hidden truths and moral quandaries, set against the backdrop of a friendly magic shop and an ever-expanding group of Colta Citizens who support Dogboy/Bronson as he explores his new home, magical powers, and his father’s murky and magical past.

I hope you love Bronson Black and Dogboy just as much as I have the last twenty years. If you’d like to help support the development of Fanboy, hop on over to the Everly Heights store and pick up the Dogboy Adventures pack, which includes eBook/PDF versions of all the books, the original short story, the screenplay I sold back in 2005, my Fanboy screenplay, and the first draft of Fanboy (titled Just A Fan) which includes a lot more Dogboy-related content and lore than the final version.

To get started, follow the links below. Start at the beginning, or read the short Danger on Liberty Pier novella which was written as a standalone story in the style of Hardy Boys books.

I’ll see you in another five years when I take the next big step in my creative career and Dogboy is involved again, somehow, always, forever.

Fanboy by Bill-Meeks

Fanboy

When a podcaster gets hired as a consultant on a reboot of his favorite 90s TV show DOGBOY ADVENTURES, he fights to make the sequel the fans have been waiting for.

NOTE: While this isn’t a Dogboy book, it does include most of the planned plot elements of the unreleased final Dogboy book Dogboy: River of Time, and addresses a lot of the same themes. Fanboy is one of several screenplays and TV pilots I’ve written for my Everly Heights universe.
